Twilight: Because nothing says ‘romance’ like being a stalker.

I just recently saw the movie Twilight. My girlfriend wanted to, and I figured ‘hey its about vampires, so it cant be all bad right?’

Well it wasnt a bad movie, actually it would have a been a pretty good movie, except for one problem that really killed it for me. The male lead came accross in some parts, as less romantic and more creepy. By which I mean if any REAL guy said/did the things he did, he’d be arrested for being a stalker.

Imagine you are asleep, and you wake up to see a guy(or girl) standing over your bed. You ask them how long they’ve been coming in your room, and they tell you a couple months, and they do so because they enjoy watching you sleep. Are you going to find them charming or romantic, or are you going to grab the phone and call 911 to get rid of this obviously disturbed indvidual?

The sad part is this tendency(strongest in the above scene, but also found in a few other parts) ruined even where he was being genuinely romantic. Because the whole time I’m screaming(in my head) “OPEN YOU EYES GIRL. YOUR WITH A FREAKING STALKER!”

Maybe its just me. My girlfriend told me I was completely insane for thinking this way. All I have to say is that if this is really what girls find romantic, I’m going to start sneaking into their bedrooms…

  1. I LOVED that movie. And all the books. You’re nuts…but feel free to sneak into girls’ rooms at night and watching them. I’m sure the boys in the cell block would LOOOVE you!!
